My name is Diana Kellermeyer and I am asking for your vote for reelection to the Sahuarita Unified School District (SUSD) Governing Board. I am a 21-year resident of Pima County, and earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. I retain a management position at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, where I have proudly served our nations veterans for the past 18 years. I was elected to the SUSD Governing Board in 2004 and currently preside as board president. As a board member, it is my responsibility to be an active voice in discerning community expectations and guiding the district in developing strategic visions and goals to meet those expectations. Over the past four years, the SUSD governing board has strived to form partnerships with our students, parents, teachers, school administration and community in meeting the needs of our children. We endeavor to ensure that each school is a safe environment for learning and opportunity that promotes an atmosphere of respect, integrity, compassion and social conscience. The governing board collaborates with district administration in developing strategic plans for the future, to establish the foundation for ensuring high student achievement and opportunity, and to maintain fiscal responsibility while adhering to the specific requirements of Arizona Learns and federal mandate of No Child Left Behind. The town of Sahuarita is amidst an extraordinary and exciting time in history as it grows from being a small rural community into a vibrant town. The school district is continually challenged to create a vision and long-term plan for growth while maintaining the established history and connection with all the communities and neighborhoods throughout our district. During this critical time, it is crucial to elect a governing board member who has experience and knowledge, and has a demonstrated commitment to pursuing creative options that best meet the needs and interests of our children and the community. As a governing board member, I take my responsibility very seriously. I sustain my commitment of ensuring that every action taken by the board is first and foremost to the benefit of our students. I am asking for your vote of support in Keeping Kids First.
Me llamo Diana Kellermeyer y les pido que voten para volver a elegirme a la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Sahuarita (siglas en inglés SUSD). Soy residente del Condado de Pima desde hace 21 años y tengo un título de máster en trabajo social de la Universidad Estatal de Arizona. Ocupo un cargo de gerente en el Sistema de Salud de los Veteranos en el Sur de Arizona, donde he servido con orgullo a los veteranos durante los últimos 18 años. Me eligieron a la Junta Directiva de SUSD en 2004 y ahora soy el presidente de la junta. Como miembro de la junta, tengo la responsabilidad de ser una voz activa para identificar las expectativas de la comunidad y guiar al distrito a desarrollar metas y objetivos estratégicos para cumplir dichas expectativas.
