Denise Ryan - Director Frameworks & Foundations/Title IIA Grant
Denise Ryan is currently the director of the Supporting Teacher Efficacy Programs (STEP.) The STEP program offers staff development sessions to teachers throughout Pima County, trains and support mentoring and strategic coaching of teachers, works with schools on curriculum development and leadership skills. She has recently completed a successful Title IIA grant focusing on the Marzano research-based instructional strategies and their implementation in classrooms. Denise now serves as the Project Director for a grant highlighting systems thinking concepts and tools in all areas of classroom curriculum.
Mrs. Ryan’s 37 years in education has spanned classroom experience in mathematics and technology as well as administrative duties. During her twenty-six years with the Tanque Verde Unified School District she also served as Career Ladder Director, Technology Coordinator, Director of Curriculum / Assessment and Superintendent.
Denise has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and a Masters degree in Mathematics Education from Ball State University. Her administrative certificates are from the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Ryan has taught adult learners through Pima College, the University of Phoenix, and in conjunction with University of Arizona math professors for three summers in the National Science Foundation’s PRIME (Promoting Reform in Math Education) grant.
